Nosy Komba

Nosy Komba means "lemur island" and is where tourists visiting the popular Nosy Be go to see black lemurs. Today Nosy Komba is largely deforested but has a population of lemurs that have become habituated to humans and live in orchards and plantations around Ampangorinana village. Every day scores of tourists come to the island to feed and take photos of the lemurs. The lemurs have brought much needed revenue to the island.
