Isalo National Park, Madagascar
Isalo National Park covers 81,540ha of the Isalo (eye-sah-lew) Massif which consists of eroded sandstone formations, canyons, and gorges. Isalo is more of a landscape stop than a wildlife location although visitors may find a number of birds and reptiles. Ring-tailed lemurs, red-fronted lemurs, and Verreaux's sifaka also live in the park. There are a number of unusual plants including endemic succulents like the Elephant's foot (Pachypodium rosulatum) and the Isalo aloe (Aloe isaloensis).
